A backstory: Growing up I always had an itch for creativity, I often found myself seeking ways to be express my individuality. It manifested as a mix of colorful and pattern clashing outfits, styling, photo & video editing, graphic design and, participating in the ever-changing aesthetic competition on social media. But to pursue as a profession? Well…it never seemed feasible to have a creative career full-time.

How I ended up here: As I unintentionally pursued jobs that did not use or challenge the creative side of my brain, I felt unfulfilled and bored. Naturally, I searched for a way out. I came across UX/UI and learned it offered the best balance of structure and creativity.

My experience: Working in hospitality and banking has allowed me to master the understanding of customer behavior and how to use that to create memorable and intuitive experiences. I am able to develop processes that directly impact important metrics resulting in positive user encounters.

I’m proof that it is never too late to pivot to a more fulfilling and successful path.
